Modern Lithic Artists Journal 4
 I
am pleased to announce that our Modern
Lithic Artists Journal 4 was introduced to great
acclaim at the August 2008 Knap-in at Flint Ridge, Ohio.
I want to
personally thank all of the artists & collectors who participated
in this project.
A special thanks goes out to Woody Blackwell for doing such an outstanding
job with our photography work.
Woody shot all of the photos, except the Rod Chapman, Pete Bostrom and Ed Moreland
photos.
Virtually everyone that I have talked to agrees that this is our finest
Journal published to date. For the first time ever we are having both
artists and collectors lining up a year in advance
to make sure that they have pages in Journal number 5, which will be introduced
at the Flint Ridge Knap-In
in August 2009.
SPECIAL RECOGNITION!
The points on both the front and back covers of Journal
4 were auctioned off at a silent auction at this year's Flint Ridge
Ohio Knap-In. The front cover points, all by Jeff Gower, brought $5,000
and the back cover points, by Roy Miller, Woody Blackwell, Dan Theus,
Ed Moreland and Jeff Gower, brought $6,200. (50% of
the proceeds went to the artists and 50% was shared
by the Guild.)
The points from these pages now reside in the hands of private collectors. I
want to thank everyone for their support — especially Roy Miller
who donated all of the Flint Ridge Ohio material that was used to create
the points on the back cover. -TJ-
The per page cost to be published in Journal 5 is $200 and all points
must be submitted by the June 1, 2009 deadline.
When the points are submitted you must include an inventory listing and
a photo or description of your preferred
layout design, as well as a check or money order that will cover
the cost of return postage
and insurance. (Otherwise the points will be returned to you C.O.D.) |
